Locating your furnace

Your Authorized Greenwood dealer will provide installation and instruction for the use of your Greenwood system. The following are a list of considerations your professional installer will discuss with you regarding the location of your wood boiler.

Frontier Series

  • The Greenwood Frontier Series furnaces are designed for indoor installation - basements, garages, sheds, and outbuildings.
  • Furnaces should be mounted on a non-combustible floor (masonry)
  • Consider proximity to chimney, electricity (for lighting)
  • Consider ease of wood loading when choosing a location
  • Ensure proper clearances and combustion air
  • The Greenwood Frontier Series furnaces are not intended for installation inside a mobile home

Use common sense and keep the unit downwind of neighbor's property, protected from foul weather, and as close to the point of heat distribution as possible for responsible use of electricity. Finally, make sure you check with local authorities regarding codes and ordinances that may be specific to your location.
