Why Ed W. Recommends the Greenwood Frontier CX:
80% lower heating costs
Less than 3 year payback
Consistent warmth–keeps everything warm through the night

Ed certainly knew he had some work ahead of him when he purchased a poorly insulated 1913 farm house and nearby Christmas tree farm. The beautiful 2,800 square foot home is nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and sits on the banks of the Snoqualmie River near Duvall, Washington.

Feeling the pinch of a $4,500 annual propane bill, Ed began looking at alternatives that would help trim this cost. Living in a forested area where wood was plentiful, he looked into wood boilers.

“It will pay for itself in less than three years!”

This is where the beautiful setting of Ed’s home became the source of his challenge and his inspiration – the river regularly floods and brings water to the family’s doorstep, filling their basement. “Because the house is in a flood plain, a normal installation was a problem,” says Ed.

Because of the small footprint, he installed the appliance in a trailer that could be moved to higher ground when the river floods.

“The Greenwood Frontier CX takes care of all my heating,” Ed explains. The appliance attaches to his forced air system in the attic as well as to the hot water tank in the basement.

Loading the appliance is a family affair with Ed’s sons chipping in to help. “I load it before I go to work at 5:30am and my boys toss a few pieces in when they get home after school. I then load it before bed. The Greenwood runs continuously from October to May.”

Ed is especially happy that his family stays warmer than ever before while also having reduced his propane bill by 80 percent.

As Ed puts it, “It will pay for itself in less than three years!”
