It is always interesting to see how the different agencies view the upcoming winter forecast. In our latest look into the topic, we checked in with the folks over at Accuweather.com to see what they had to say about this winter. Well, suffice to say it disagreed with the Farmer’s Almanac.
Rather than mild and wet in the Pacific Northwest, Accuweather.com predicts that the worst of winter’s cold and snow will pay my little corner of the world a visit after being absent last year. In addition, the northern Plains and western Great Lakes will also see snow and cold. If you are in Alaska or western Canada, you may want to prepare yourselve; Accuweather predicts severe cold in those regions.

As a check, we wandered over to the Climate Prediction Center and it seems to agree with the forecast at Accuweather. I guess I better finish some of those neglected outdoor projects!
